Seabeck Real Estate

The quiet community of Seabeck was once a thriving mill town. Its port location was ideal for shipping lumber and in 1856, construction of the Seabeck lumber mill got under way. When the mill was destroyed by fire in 1886, Seabeck's hope for an industrial future also went up in flames.

Once known as "The Liveliest Town on Puget Sound,” Seabeck now lures those looking for a respite from complicated modern living. Tucked along the beach of Hood Canal in Kitsap County, Seabeck is considered part of the greater Bremerton-Silverdale metro area.

Just 90 miles from Seattle, Seabeck real estate is often purchased as vacation property. The town is close enough for a weekend get-away but far enough to escape the city. Breathtaking waterfront estates can be purchased for $1.5M or more. Cozy romantic cottages can be picked up for a mere $350,000. And mobile homes on a wooded parcel of land go for less than $200,000. The average home sales price in February 2006 was $261,566.

Seabeck is a popular place for salmon fishing, oyster harvesting, and boating. Nearby Scenic Beach State Park is a local camping destination with 1,500 feet of saltwater beachfront. Known for its wild-growing rhododendrons, the Park showcases stunning views of Hood Canal and the Olympic Mountains.

Rich in history, the tiny town of Seabeck has its own country store, espresso stand, café, gift shop, and marina. And a 15-minute drive to Silverdale provides everything else that Seabeck real estate owners might need.
